Wanting to ditch the Post cap? Meet the Pin & Chain Post Steering System.

If you've been or seen rural fencing in the South Island, you might have seen the Pin & Chain post steering system in action. It's been a contractor favourite for years for one simple reason: it gives you control over your post steering without the need of a post rammer postcap.

Although a post cap works well for the majority of post drivers and fencing requirements, some guys find the post cap not very effective in harder ground conditions as the post can go off-line/wonky when you lift the post cap off the post (once rammed into the ground). With the FencePro Pin & Chain system, it takes a little bit longer to get used to, but you can see exactly what your post is doing as you ram it.

How it Works | Pin & Chain System

This contractor-proven post steering kit is designed to hold your post or strainer against the mast.

The system uses a heavy-duty chain that wraps around the post, securing it firmly to the post driver mast. The pin then slides into the profile on either side of the post. If your post starts to wander or needs a nudge, you use the pin to push or pull it back into line.

2 Pin Height options: Two different height options for the pin to suit different post sizes and ground conditions.
Triple-Height Chain Adjustment: Three chain heights to ensure you can grip the post exactly where you need to.

Innovative Roller Bar: We've engineered a roller system that prevents the chains from binding up on the post.

When you pair the Pin & Chain system with an Ultra Glide Rock Spike Extractor (RSE), the RSE traveller (the part that slides up and down) is designed to slide directly over the Pin & Chain profile. This locks the rockspike (or rockdrill/auger) in line and stops it from pulling away from the mast, giving you a straighter pilot hole.

This post driver attachment is built for our heavier-duty post rammer models. It's fully compatible with the Ultra G2S, Ultra V, Ultra G4 and Ultra T2.

The FencePro Post Roller Bar Kit is a huseful upgrade for your Pin & Chain System that replaces a standard chain. The twin roller and bar design prevents the chain from binding or catching on the post as you ram it into the ground

Want to Retrofit? We do offer a smaller, weld-on retrofit version for other machines; it only features a single pin height and isn't as strong as a factory-fitted / the actual pin & chain system, and doesn’t help guide your rock spike, but is a handy retrofittable upgrade.
