The FencePro UltraGlide Rock Spike Extractor (also known as the RSE) is a heavy-duty post rammer attachment built for New Zealand farmers and fencing contractors working in rocky soils and hard ground conditions

Designed around a rigid square column and fitted with nylon slides, the UltraGlide system delivers super smooth travel while avoiding the steel-on-steel scoring common with traditional rockspike kits. The rigid column also helps keep the rock spike straight, so you end up with a straighter pilot hole, and, ultimately a straighter fence line.

More than just a rock spike setup, the UltraGlide Rock Spike Extractor is a versatile post driver accessory that becomes the mounting platform for multiple post hitter attachments. Rockspike Vs Rockdrill | *Both Mount to The Rockspike Extractor Kit

The UltraGlide Rock Spike Extractor is ideal for creating pilot holes in stony and rocky ground, where the rockspike can “punch” through by displacing material and making a hole for the post.

For the situations such as solid rock or dense clay, many operators choose to run the FencePro Rock Drill on the UltraGlide extractor system instead. A simple way to think about it:

  • The Rockspike pushes material out of the way and is excellent in stony/rocky ground where material can move
  • The Rock Drill removes material from the hole and is better suited to conditions where material can’t easily shift, like solid rock or dense clay.

Because the Rock Drill mounts directly to the UltraGlide Rock Spike Extractor, you can configure one modular system to handle a wide range of ground conditions.

Configuration & Mounting Options | Rockspike Extractor Post Rammer Attachment

Near Side Mounted | The operator side of the mast.

Things to consider, you do have to work around the rockspike when it's mounted on the near side however, it does provide some leg protection from snapping posts and is easier to push in and out of the work position.

Far Side Mounted: | The opposite side of the mast to the operator.

Things to consider, while it is out of your way, it is harder to manually pull around and there is the risk of the operator moving through the strike zone of the monkey. When mounted on a Sidemount, the far side RSE can hit the back mud guard/tyre if the tractor has short linkage arms.

Manually Positioned:

This option is more cost-effective and works well for users who aren’t using their Rock spike extractor kit very often. One factor to consider is whether you will be fencing on steep terrain; moving the Rock spike around when going down a hill can be very difficult.

Hydraulically Positioned:

This option is best for users who are going to be using their Rock-spike extractor on a common basis, or on steep terrain. Many users who have a far-side positioned Rock spike extractor kit have this positioned hydraulicly as it prevents them from having to reach around under the block to pull the kit into place.
